Moving to Israel

How to get from one city to another in Israel?

Pick two cities: see the train stations, light rail, distance and the exact real-time public transport route. Ideal to choose where to live.

Ramat HaSharon→Haifa≈ 73 km as the crow flies

Ramat HaSharon

No train station in town

No station: nearest ones are Herzliya or Tel Aviv University, by bus.

Haifa

Train stations : Haifa Merkaz HaShmona · Bat Galim · Hof HaCarmel · Merkazit HaMifrats

Carmelit (funicular metro) and Metronit

At least one city has no station: bus (or bus + train) is the way. The live route gives you the lines.

Real times and durations: open the live route.

Popular trips

Good to know

Shabbat

Most trains and buses stop from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening (with local exceptions, e.g. some buses in Haifa). Shared taxis (sherut) often run.

Rav-Kav card

The transit card valid on buses, trains and light rail. Discounts (students, seniors…) require a personal Rav-Kav. App payment is also possible.

Ben Gurion Airport

A station in the airport: direct trains to Tel Aviv and to Jerusalem (Yitzhak Navon), about half an hour to Jerusalem.

Tel Aviv light rail

The Red Line links Petah Tikva to Bat Yam via Bnei Brak, Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv and Jaffa since August 2023. Other lines (Green, Purple) are under construction.
